Toward reinforcing agile approaches using the international series of guidelines and standards ISO/IEC 29110
Abstract:
It is currently widespread for very small entities to adopt agile environments to develop their software products. However, are these environments appropriately implemented? Do they fulfill their objective of providing us with the tools to guarantee the quality of our products? They allow me to demonstrate that I am competitive at an international level? This talk addresses a proposal to strengthen agile software development environments by implementing practices from the entry profile of the ISO/IEC 29110 standard, which allows for a more robust development environment while still using its agile approach for the development of its non-critical products.
Speaker biography:
Doctor in Computer Science from the Faculty of Computer Science of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, with mention of "European Doctorate". She did a postdoctoral stay at the Carlos III University of Madrid. She has a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Technological Institute of Orizaba. She is currently a researcher at CIMAT- Zacatecas Unit in the area of Software Engineering and has been recognized by the National System of Researchers as a Level I Researcher. She is a member of the following research groups: CIMAT Software Engineering research group, Optimization of Process Improvement Network (ROPRIM), and the process improvement network. She also participates in Group 24 of ISO/IEC JTC1 SC7 Software and System Engineering; she is a member of the Mexican Academy of Computing and the Mexican Society of Computer Sciences. She has participated in the official translation of the books CMMI-DEV v1.2 and 1.3 and the ISO / IEC 29110 entry profile. More recently, she has participated in developing the guidelines for implementing the ISO / IEC 29110 standards in agile environments. She belongs to the scientific committee of relevant international congresses in her area. In addition, she has been invited as an evaluator of articles from indexed journals with impact factors. She is vice president of the International Congress on Software Process Improvement (CIMPS), where she also actively participates as a chair in the Robot Competition Workshop. At the EUROSPI congress, she also participates as a chair in the Team Skills and Diversity Workshop. She is the author of the book Multi-model Methodology to Implement Software Process Improvements. She has published various technical articles in journals, Springer chapters, and global IGI and high-impact national and international conferences in her area. Her areas of interest are definition and improvement of processes, human factors, change management, multi-model environments, DevOps, Software Quality, team integration, implementation of quality models and standards, agile methods, gamification, and serious games.
